Contest period
September 9 – October 27, 2026
Our goal
30,000 absentee votes

Together We Vote. Together We Win. The Jefferson County Citizens Coalition is running an Absentee Voting Contest among organizations ahead of the 2026 General Election, with a goal of 30,000 absentee votes across Jefferson County — the same number we reached in 2022. Every vote counts, and every organization makes a difference.
How it works
Bring voters to the Absentee Voting Office in the Jefferson County Courthouse any time during the contest period. Absentee votes are validated by the Absentee Office confirming that the person voted.

An example
If a church brings in 20 people per week for 8 weeks, they may reach 180–200 absentee voters who have voted in person before the General Election. That church may receive a donation of up to $3,000 for a scholarship in the church's name for a student for the 2026–2027 mid-year school year.
Keeping your records
Your organization must maintain its own list of the absentee votes it is claiming, along with something showing that you provided the transportation, or otherwise encouraged those voters to go to the Absentee Office to vote.
